Most buyers ask whether they can afford a house. Miki Yang teaches her clients to ask a better question: what will this house be worth once we are finished with it? That distinction has defined her practice in Bay Area residential real estate, where she has built a reputation for locating single-family homes and luxury properties that are priced below what they are capable of becoming.

The work begins with sourcing. Miki looks for the gap between a property’s present condition and its underlying potential — the dated kitchen, the awkward floor plan, the seller in a hurry, the listing that photographs badly. Where others see problems, she sees priced-in discounts. From there she guides her clients through the work of closing that gap: defining the renovation scope that actually moves value, holding the budget to it, and repositioning the property so the improvement shows up as equity rather than expense. Her clients end up in homes they love and, just as importantly, in homes worth more than they paid.

What sets Miki apart is that she does not keep the method to herself. She walks first-time buyers from zero to one, preparing them long before they are ready to write an offer and making certain that a first purchase is one that holds. For clients ready to go further, she maps the path from one to ten — how equity in a first property funds a second, how a portfolio compounds when it is built deliberately rather than opportunistically, and where the real risks sit. Many of her clients come back not for another house, but for the next chapter of a plan they started with her years earlier.

Miki’s work also extends to the corporate side of the market. She advises Chinese companies expanding into the United States on establishing a physical presence here — identifying the right locations, securing office and operating space, and housing the executives and staff who arrive to build the business. A company landing in a market it does not yet understand needs someone who can read both sides, and Miki has become a trusted first call for firms taking that step. Whether the client is a family buying a first home or a company opening its first American office, the underlying task is the same: putting down roots in the right place, at the right price.

Trained in financial economics, Miki brings an analytical framework to a market where most decisions are made on instinct. That same long-term thinking extends to her leadership: she joined the CAREA Board of Directors in 2024 and was installed as President of the Chinese American Real Estate Association in July 2026, where she has focused the association on sponsorship growth, professional education, and expanding its reach across California. Jennifer Chen

Vice President

Jennifer Chen was born and raised in Taiwan. Jennifer received her college education in the United States earning a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration from Notre Dame de Namur University. Upon gaining experience and knowledge during her real estate career as a licensed sales agent, Jennifer then obtained her real estate broker’s license and mortgage license. For the past 30 years, Jennifer has worked in the real estate industry in one way or another. In addition to representing sellers and buyers of real estate, Jennifer also has extensive knowledge and experience in property management, landlord/tenant related issues, loan industry, residential and commercial development, raw land acquisition and tentative map entitlement work. However, Jennifer’s real estate Speciality is taking value add property and completely turning it around into a profitable and marketable piece of real estate; during this process she takes a previously distressed commercial property, improves and updates the structure, then procures and leases to solid tenants. Her distressed projects include single family homes, multi-family properties, residential development land, commercial strip centers, enclosed malls and high-rise office buildings. Jason Wang

Jason Wang is a capital advisor and director at George Smith Partners. He has 10 years of experience in commercial real estate capital markets, with expertise in structuring capital for new construction and value-add projects, as well as financing solutions for foreign national investors.

Throughout his career, Jason has closed more than $1.8 billion in loan transactions across a diverse range of capital sources, including life insurance companies, banks, CMBS/conduit lenders, agency lenders, and debt funds.
